Forget Memory, a new book from Anne Basting, highlights ten programs nationally that improve the lives of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias by focusing on the present. Memory Bridge is featured as an innovative program that stimulates emotional connection. Published by Johns Hopkins University Press, the book suggests that the fear of losing our memory makes the experience of the disease worse than it needs to be. Ms. Basting is the Director of the Center on Age & Community and an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre at the Peck School of the Arts, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she teaches storytelling and playwriting.
